It’s one of those nights neither of us wanted to cook. How about sushi? Sure! We decided to try Iyasare, this newly opened classy nouveau Japanese place on 4th street, Berkeley. We sat at the bar and watched all the open kitchen action. The bar tender who serviced us was really nice and can whip up a pretty good cocktail. We had fun for a casual night.

Tea Smoked Half Peking Duck – It looked delicious but we had to send this one back because it was too dry. A bit sad that a good piece of duck was wasted.

Lobster Chawanmushi – Our replacement for the duck which was delicious! Interesting to do a cold salty dessert for once.
