Ky and I decided to celebrate our new years countdown doing something we love, enjoying delicious food! We got reservations to Aziza, one of our favorite restaurants in SF. This was our third time returning to the Michelin star restaurant for a special occasion. Last time, we celebrated my 31th birthday and the previous time, we were there for our anniversary. The experience was intimate, relaxing and romantic. Toast to another great year!

New Years Eve Menu – 10 Courses

Snack 1: Geoduck – very fragrant, like sea breeze

Snack 2: Radishes with cheese – smooth creaminess complimented by a hint of earthy bitter tones

Snack 3: Oysters – tangy and refreshing

Snack 4: Fried Sunchoke with powder sugar – yum!

Crafted Cocktail Menu

The lavender – strong aroma of lavender, a bit on the sweeter side.

Smoked Trout – Delicious! Smoked to perfection.

Dungeness Crab Croquette with caviar and broccoli

Couscous – So delicious! Reminded me of the Moroccan tagine we had in France.

a quick snapshot before the next course

Basteeya, duck confit wrapped in fillo dough – crispy and the duck fat was so satisfying.

Rose Geranium – Floral and herbs but with a gebtle hint of sweetness. My favorite drink of the night!

Rib eye with black truffles – The perfect texture of rareness! My first time having actual shaved black truffle.

Cheese course – goat cheese with roasted beet, honey and roasted almonds. The cheese was not too strong, paired really well with the sweetness of the fresh beet.

Dessert time! Fresh apple sorbet with pickled green apples. The sorbet had an icy texture which made it really refreshing.

Olio Nuovo – Really good and not too rich. Perfect portion.

Sugar puffs – lightly fried donuts

Mignardises – an assortment of small treats.
